Rosa Taboada (b. 1975, Santiago de Compostela) is a Galician filmmaker, photographer, and screenwriter whose work moves between fiction and documentary, working from image and atmosphere. Guided by observation and listening, and informed by Philosophy and artistic encounters with masters such as Víctor Erice, Ralph Gibson (Vancouver), Paolo Roversi, and Christian Caujoulle at Les Rencontres d’Arles (twice selected), it centers intimate and human stories often left unheard.

Her creative path ignited during her Philosophy degree (USC, 2006), producing analog photographs for Anthropology explorations and recordings for “Philosophy and Ideology” courses—origins of a lifelong pursuit where image and sound shape narrative structure, often favoring silence over words to craft poetic depth.

Her interest in ancient processes like platinotype enriches her distinctive aesthetic. As director and screenwriter, she uncovers women’s hidden narratives and intimate depths through innovative, non-commercial storytelling.
